The noble ambience in the lavishly restored luxury Hotel Goldener Hirsch corresponded to the exhibits. In keeping with the Salzburg Festival, Knauf Jewels – the Wiesbaden-based manufacturer of extravagant jewellery – presented its new, exquisite collections in an exclusive pop-up store, which began with a “Knauf Jewels & Friends Cocktail Prolongé” and is open until 21 August at 37 Getreidegasse in Salzburg. The fine jewellery in the perfect setting of the hotel is complemented by the porcelain art of the Salzburg Meissen Store in the Palais Küenburg and already at the start attracted discerning guests, some of whom came from overseas and Japan.
During the festival Knauf Jewels presented their new collection “Faune & Flore” and expressed its extraordinary design of filigree butterfly brooches and necklaces with matching earrings and bracelets – all in pastel shades and provided with white diamonds, yellow and white sapphires, blue topazes and pink tourmalines.
Owner and gemologist Nathalie Knauf, who studied with her husband and designer Philippe at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in London, explained to those interested at Prolongé: “Salzburg and the festival, which I have loved since childhood, always provide the perfect setting for me to present our haute couture jewellery. They are all created by the world’s finest goldsmiths and enamel makers and underline the beauty of the special woman for special occasions”.
Nathalie and Philippe Knauf founded their company for design jewellery 2011 in Wiesbaden. Since then, Knauf Jewels has stood for “Supreme Quality and Craftmanship” – the highest standards of material and craftsmanship. The jewellery lover and expert: “The work of the Monaco Better World Forum for the Protection of the Seas inspired me to create the maritime motifs for the collection. That’s why my collection includes motifs such as starfish, fish and penguins”. Knauf Jewels supports the Monaco Better World Forum; Nathalie Knauf is on the organization’s Board of Directors.
